NEWS
OCTOBER 2025
MEMBERSHIP:
The Day Centre currently has several places available for both Monday and Friday as our numbers have reduced over the past year. If you are enquiring about a family member, friend or neighbour, please contact Gill van Blankenstein - our Organiser, on 07923 031231. We do have some transport spaces but only on Fridays. Please note we can only take residents of the EN5 Post Code area unless you are able to bring the person in yourself. Unfortunately we cannot accept anyone who will be relying on Dial-a-Ride or a taxi service as these are both too unreliable.
VOLUNTEER DRIVERS:
We are also, as always, looking for volunteer Mini Bus Drives and escorts. If you think you might like to get involved and have a valid driving licence, please call us on 07923 031231 or drop us an email at cbsdaycentre@btinternet.com.
ACTIVITIES:
We have just started a new year with the children visiting from Alban Pre School Nursery. This delightful programme began in 2017 when the Day Centre moved to it's current home at the Open Door Centre and continued until 2020 when everything came to a halt due to COVID. It is proving once again to be a great success with both the children and elderly members of the day centre making new friends!
We have regular visits from entertainers and enjoy a number of varied quiz and memory matter afternoons and we will mark Silver Sunday this year with a cream tea and singalong on Monday 6th October.
FUND RAISING:
Our big fund raising Christmas Fayre will be held this year on Saturday 15th November at Pennefather Hall from 10.30am to 1.00pm
